This Privacy Policy explains how Uddom ("Uddom", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our website and platform at uddom.io (together, the "Platform").

Agreement to Privacy Policy

By accessing or using the Platform, creating an account, starting a campaign, or backing a campaign, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the Platform.

This document is a general template and is not legal advice. You should ask a qualified lawyer in Bangladesh to review and adapt it before using it as your official Privacy Policy.

Section 1

Who we are and scope

Uddom operates a crowdfunding platform that connects people and organizations who want to raise funds ("Campaign Creators") with people and organizations who want to support them ("Backers").

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • Visitors to our website
  • Registered users of the Platform, including Campaign Creators and Backers
  • Anyone who contacts us by email or other channels in connection with Uddom

It does not apply to third party websites, services, or apps that may be linked from the Platform.

Section 2

Information we collect

We collect different types of information depending on how you use Uddom.

2.1 Information you provide directly

This includes:

  • Account and profile information Name, email address, password, contact details, profile photo (if you choose to upload one), and other information you provide when registering or updating your account.
  • Campaign information Campaign title, description, funding goal, rewards or equity terms, photos, videos, documents, and any other content you submit as part of a campaign.
  • Identity and KYC information For certain campaigns or payout thresholds, we may request additional information, for example:
    • National ID or passport details
    • Organization documents (such as registration certificates)
    • Proof of address
    • Other verification data requested to comply with anti money laundering or other regulations.
  • Payment and payout information For Backers, this may include information related to payment method selection and transaction details. For Campaign Creators, this includes bank account details and other payout related information. Payment card details, if used in the future, may be processed directly by payment providers and not stored by Uddom.
  • Communications with us Emails you send to [email protected], messages or feedback you provide, reports about campaigns, applications for partnerships or roles, and other communications.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

When you visit or use the Platform, we may automatically collect:

  • Technical information IP address, browser type and version, device information, operating system, language settings, referring pages, and similar technical data.
  • Usage information Pages visited, time and date of visits, clicks, navigation paths, search queries on the Platform, and interactions with campaigns or features.
  • Cookies and similar technologies We may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your settings, improve the user experience, and analyze how the Platform is used. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Payment service providers (for example, confirmation that a payment was successful)
  • Verification and KYC service providers
  • Public sources and social media, where information is relevant to verifying a campaign or managing risk
  • Partners, agencies, or organizations that work with Uddom

3.1 To provide and operate the Platform

  • Creating and managing user accounts
  • Enabling you to create, manage, and back campaigns
  • Processing contributions, payouts, and related transactions
  • Providing support and responding to requests, questions, or complaints

3.2 To ensure safety, compliance, and risk management

  • Verifying the identity of Campaign Creators and, where necessary, Backers
  • Reviewing campaigns for potential fraud, misuse, or prohibited activities
  • Monitoring transactions and activity to comply with anti money laundering and related obligations
  • Enforcing our Terms of Use, Safety and Compliance policy, and Campaign Rules and Prohibited Uses

3.3 To communicate with you

  • Sending service related messages, such as confirmations, receipts, notifications, and updates about your campaigns or contributions
  • Responding to your requests for support or information
  • Sending administrative notices about changes to our terms or policies

3.4 To improve and develop Uddom

  • Analyzing how the Platform is used in order to improve features and performance
  • Conducting internal research, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Developing new services or features

3.5 Marketing and information (where permitted)

  • Sending you news, articles, and updates about Uddom, our services, or selected campaigns
  • Inviting you to participate in surveys, feedback sessions, or beta programs

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us. We may still send non marketing messages that relate to your account or the Platform.

3.6 Legal and regulatory purposes

  • Complying with applicable laws and regulations
  • Responding to lawful requests from courts, regulators, or law enforcement
  • Protecting our rights, property, users, and the public

  • Consent For certain cookies, marketing communications, or specific uses of personal information, where we ask for your consent.
  • Legal obligations For example, obligations related to anti money laundering, accounting, and reporting.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following situations:

5.1 With other users

  • When you create a campaign, certain information such as your name or organization name, campaign content, and funding progress will be visible on the Platform.
  • When you back a campaign, your name or display name may be visible to the Campaign Creator and possibly other backers, depending on the settings you choose and the campaign configuration.

5.2 With service providers

We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the Platform, including:

  • Payment processors and banks
  • KYC and identity verification providers
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics and email service providers
  • Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants, and auditors

These service providers are allowed to use personal information only to perform services on our behalf and must handle it in line with appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

5.3 For legal and safety reasons

We may share information when we believe it is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal process
  • Respond to valid requests from law enforcement, regulators, or courts
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Uddom, our users, or others

5.4 Business transfers

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You are responsible for keeping your password and account details confidential and for notifying us if you believe your account has been compromised.
